At EG, we celebrate innovative thinking in the built environment and enjoy hearing the thoughts and ideas of tomorrow’s leaders. To help support creative thinking amongst the next generation, we are launching our 2022 student essay competition, which will again be judged by a panel of leading industry professionals and academics.
Who’s eligible?
Apprentices, undergraduates and postgraduates in real estate.
What do we want?
In 1,000 – 1,200 words, you should respond to the question: “what does long-term success in real estate look like – and how does the industry achieve it?”
Is it, for example, an industry that has fully embraced environmental, social and governance (ESG) in its decision making and operation while maintaining profit? Is it a sector that has evolved pioneering approaches to diversity & inclusion (D&I)? Or is it the industry’s ability to harness technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and the metaverse to produce the business models and platforms of the future, that will be key to shaping its long-term success?
Explain why you feel those – or other factors – are important, as well as detailing how success will be achieved over the short to medium term. For example, who should take the lead in driving forward change?
How will it be assessed?
You have until Tuesday 31st May to make your submission. All submissions will then be reviewed by our panel, with the winner announced in EG on 25th June.
Prize
The winning essay, along with the two runners up, will be published in EG. The winner will also receive a year’s free subscription to the EG magazine digital edition, mentoring from one of the industry judges and £250 in vouchers. Mentoring will also be available for the two runners up.
